Early Years Practitioner

The Position

Early Years Practitioner, working a minimum of 3 days per week – 08.45-16.15, during term time.

To start summer term 2026 (April) but can be flexible.

What We Are Looking For

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent)

  • A genuine enjoyment of working with young children

  • High expectations of every child’s potential

  • Good knowledge of the EYFS framework

  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and child protection

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and teamwork skills

  • Up-to-date safeguarding and First Aid (preferred)

We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children and staff. An enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references will be required.

Your Role

You will play a key part in supporting our children (aged 2–4) as they learn, grow and discover the world around them. Working within the EYFS framework, you will help deliver our inspiring curriculum while creating a warm, safe and stimulating environment where children can thrive.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care and education appropriate to each child’s age and stage of development

  • Plan and deliver engaging activities based on children’s interests and individual needs

  • Undertake the role of key person for an agreed number of children

  • Observe, assess and record progress using Tapestry, a child’s online learning system (full training provided)

  • Work as part of our team, exhibiting a flexible attitude and willingness to develop new skills

  • Build positive partnerships with parents and carers, encouraging involvement in their child’s learning

  • Maintain a safe, clean and stimulating environment

  • Contribute to the clearance of the nursery furniture and equipment during the summer term

  • Implement nursery policies and procedures
